Content MATTERS. When we first launched Bigger-Brains as an eLearning provider, our original intent was NOT to create our own courses. We thought we could license someone else’s content and package it for our reseller partners (mostly IT consultants & MSPs). But after reviewing literally dozens of content options, we found we didn’t like any of them! In fact, in one of our focus group sessions back in 2012, we timed how long it took for people to get bored and stop paying attention to the course. No one in the room made it past 3 minutes!
We went back to the drawing board and researched how to make eLearning that is both effective and engaging. We had a unique perspective in that most of our leadership team did NOT have any eLearning experience, so we didn’t have a history of “THIS is how you do it!” to overcome. We started fresh and created something entirely new.
Our courses are shot in a video studio. Students see the instructor and our on-screen learners. We have dialogue, conversation, humor. We find the best teachers in the world, people who specialize in their chosen topic, and we bring them to our studios in South Carolina (or, as with our recent SharePoint course, we film them remotely when they’re on the other side of the planet).
The results have been well worth the extra work. Our customer satisfaction and retention rates are beyond our most optimistic projections, and we’re partnering with some of the best eLearning companies in the world who want to bring our content to their users.
